OUR PROGRAM
WHO WE ARE
Young Creators Studio was founded out of a shared love for the arts and the realization that most children’s programs focus on stand-alone daily activities without much connection or flow. We wanted something different: a camp where creativity builds day by day, leading to a meaningful final performance that celebrates every camper’s imagination. With Emily’s extensive background in dramatic and performing arts and Brian’s lifelong passion for drawing, creativity, and fine arts, we set out to design the kind of program we would have thrived in as kids—one that develops skills, sparks curiosity, and nurtures confidence.
DAILY PROGRAMMING
*Please note: Our Prince Edward County camp operates from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and follows a reduced schedule compared to our Toronto-based programs.
ART
At Young Creators Studio, art is more than just an activity—it’s a key part of how campers create, express, and bring their ideas to life. Our program is designed to build skills, encourage creativity, and give students the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic experiences.
Our Art Foundations program focuses on building strong drawing skills and confidence as young artists. Through guided sketching sessions, campers learn core techniques such as shape, form, value, and texture. These sessions help students understand how to see like an artist and improve their ability to draw with intention, not just imagination.
Art FOUNDATIONS
Each day, campers take part in hands-on art projects that explore a variety of mediums and styles, including printmaking, sculpture, line art, and more. These projects are designed to encourage creativity and self-expression, allowing students to explore new ideas, take risks, and create artwork that reflects their individuality.
DAILY Art Projects
At Young Creators Studio, drama is where creativity comes alive on stage. Campers step into new roles, share ideas, and build confidence as they explore the world of theatre in an engaging and supportive space. Each day brings new opportunities to imagine, create, and perform!
DRAMA
Our drama workshops build foundational theatre skills in a supportive, engaging environment where every camper feels encouraged to participate and grow. Campers develop essential performance skills such as projection, articulation, and expressive movement, while learning to create characters, express emotions, and bring their ideas to life on stage.
Theatre Skills
Through improv games, collaborative storytelling, and guided character activities, campers explore creativity in a fun and dynamic way. These sessions encourage creative risk-taking, bold choices, and confidence in their own voice, all while being supported by their peers and instructors. Along the way, campers strengthen teamwork, communication, and social-emotional skills, forming meaningful connections and taking pride in what they create together.
CREATive Exploration
Studio time is where the show is created! Campers rehearse, develop their script, and work together to design sets, props, and costumes as their final performance comes to life.
Studio Time
Campers work together to reinvent a familiar fairytale, adding imaginative twists, new dialogue, and creative character changes to make the story their own.
At the start of the session, campers collaborate with the drama instructor to shape their ideas, which are then developed into a customized script. Rehearsals begin early in the week, where campers block scenes, explore characters, and continue adding humour and creative moments so each child has a chance to shine.
Campers bring their ideas to life by designing and creating the sets, props, costumes, and backdrops for their final performance. This collaborative process encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, as students work together to build a visual world that supports their story.
Every child is included in a way that feels comfortable for them, whether on stage or supporting behind the scenes, while being gently encouraged to build confidence and try new things.
The final performance is a low-pressure, celebratory experience for family and friends, with a focus on creativity, growth, and enjoyment. Campers leave feeling proud of the unique show they created together!
